UNDERGROUND FIRE
21/01/2019
LFB was called to an underground station fire. A major incident was declared 3 minutes after the arrival of the first crew. The Metropolitan Police Service and the London Ambulance Service also attended in mass numbers. London Fire Brigade then called for further crews and specialist personnel to attend. Sadly, we have accounted for 13 people that unfortunately lost their lives in the fire, along with 2 firefighters that were injured by a gas explosion in the underground tunnels.
A public enquiry is now open and the scene is under investigation by multiple services.
